Available with a choice of 10, 25 & 100 cm2 rings, roller and blotters

Primary used in pulp and paper mills, the Cobb Tester is a simple instrument that measures the water absorptiveness of paper, cardboard and corrugated fibreboard under standard conditions. The cobb sizing test is a manual test used worldwide to test absorption or resistance to absorption of water, oil and other liquids.

The water absorptiveness is a significant parameter in the specification of paper and board for use in the packaging and printing industries.

Different surface areas can be tested: 10, 25 and 100 cm2. The cobb has a precision machined testing cylinder and the flat lower edge is firmly positioned over the test sample, without the risk of leakages or cutting into the test sample.

The conditioning roll has a sliding handle which ensures that only the standard conditioning weight is applied to the test piece. There is a template for the quick and accurate preparation of standard test samples.
