Euclid Range of Laboratory Coaters
Enables both direct and indirect coating of hand sheets, or a continuous web up to 300 mm wide
Precise metering of coating from doctored gravure cylinders.
A choice of laboratory coaters designed for both the direct and indirect coating of hand sheets, or a continuous web up to 300 mm wide. The range of Laboratory Coaters, including 3 roll offset Gravure, 2 roll direct Gravure and single roll, are designed for applying a uniform, consistent, and repeatable coatings.
Precise metering of coating from doctored gravure cylinders, give coating thicknesses from 1 micron to 75 micron.
Suitable for coating onto paper, paperboard, foamboard, various types of film, aluminum and steel foils, glass substrate, silicon discs, and various other types of substrate. Euclid Laboratory Coaters are extensively used for coating silicones, adhesives, hot melt coatings, U.V. coatings, paper coatings, inks, overcoat varnishes, and polymers.
Single Roll Lab Coater
- Used for applying coatings onto small hand sheets of paper, film, etc. The coat weight is controlled by varying the amount of air pressure that is applied to the doctor blade which presses against the back of the rubber covered roll.
- The manual unit contains a handle for rotating the roll.
- The power unit contains a 120 V or 220 V variable speed motor and controller.
Direct Gravure Lab Coater (2 Roll Unit)
- Used to apply various types of coatings onto various types of substrate, the coat weight is controlled by the specific gravure pattern in the bottom gravure roll and by the amount of air pressure applied to the top roll.
- 6” diameter x 12” wide standard EDPM rubber top roll is air regulated for varying downward pressure onto bottom roll, and also contains a vertical height adjustment with dial indicator read-outs for setting a gap between centre and bottom roll. Independently driven with 110 Volt, 30 rpm variable speed motor and controller with digital tachometer for determining speed of centre roll.
- 6” diameter x 12” wide bottom gravure roll is also independently driven with a 110 Volt, 21 rpm (30 feet per minute) variable speed motor and controller complete with digital tachometer for determining speed of bottom gravure roll.
Offset Gravure Lab Coater (3 Roll Unit)
- Used to apply various types of coatings onto various types of substrate, the coat weight is controlled by the specific gravure pattern in the bottom gravure roll and by the amount of air pressure applied to centre and top rolls.
- 3” diameter x 12” wide chrome top roll contains air regulated vertical pressure
- 6” diameter x 12” wide standard EDPM rubber centre roll is air regulated for varying downward pressure onto bottom roll, and also contains a vertical height adjustment with dial indicator read-outs for setting a gap between centre and bottom roll. Independently driven with 110 Volt, 30 rpm variable speed motor and controller with digital tachometer for determining speed of centre roll
- 6” diameter x 12” wide bottom gravure roll is also independently driven with a 110 Volt, 21 rpm (30 feet per minute) variable speed motor and controller complete with digital tachometer for determining speed of bottom gravure roll
- Stainless steel fountain resides underneath bottom gravure roll and holds coating mixture (bottom gravure roll can be changed within 5 minutes, so various gravure rolls can be utilised)
Options
- Special “Removable Center Roll” – feature for quick removal of Center Rubber Roll
Please Note
The above machines include the choice of one “laser engraved” gravure roll 55 LPI – 1200 LPI engravings (LPI = linescreen per inch). Special pattern gravure or anilox rolls are priced separately.
Additional “laser engraved” gravure bottom rolls are available as follows:
Less than 180 lpi, 181 – 300 lpi, 301 – 440 lpi, 441 – 600 lpi, 601 – 800 lpi, 801 – 1000 lpi
Other types of engraving such as mechanical, electronic, chemical, etc., are also available [prices vary depending on specific engraving pattern]
Different rubber coverings and roll surfaces are available, such as neoprene, Viton, Silicone, Hypalon, Buna-N, Urethane, Natural Rubber, (prices vary depending upon the exact type of rubber or roll surface that is chosen).
