Measures the force required to bend a variety of materials under controlled, repeatable conditions

This force can be equated to stiffness, resilience, flexibility or pliability depending on the nature of the material and purpose of the test. Available with parallel clamps or tubing clamps.

The Gurley Model 4171S digital bending stiffness tester Ideal for evaluating a wide range of flat and sheet materials as diverse as fine films, to asphalt roofing shingles. There are 15 possible specimen sizes with the clamps accomodating materials up to 50 mm wide and 6 mm thick.

The Gurley Bending Stiffness Tester measures the force required to bend a wide variety of flat materials under controlled and repeatable conditions. This force can be equated to stiffness, resilience, flexibility, or pliability depending on the nature of the material and the purpose of the test. A lookup table, and/or software bring all combinations of size and counter weights to a common range of readings on a continuous scale from 1 – 3,358,720.

Meeting rigorous accuracy and sensitivity requirements even with light-weight materials, Gurley Bending Stiffness Testers are simple to operate and require almost no maintenance. A complete set of accessory weights (5, 25, 50, 200 grams) is included.
