Taber Linear Abraser
For evaluating either contoured, or flat surfaces of finished products of various sizes
A precision bearing spline shaft creates a ‘free-floating’ test system that permits vertical movement. The test attachment is fixed to the bottom of the spline shaft and a weight support is mounted to the top, to allow for different applied loads.
As the horizontal arm reciprocates backwards and forwards in a linear motion, the test system raises or lowers vertically, as the test attachment follows the contours of the specimen.
The Taber Linear Abraser can be used for both wet and dry testing. It can also be configured with optional test attachments to evaluate the relative resistance of a material’s surface to damage such as wear and abrasion, scratch, gouge, scrape, rub, crocking, etc.
Selectable test parameters include speed, stroke length and test load. The Linear Taber Abraser can also be used to perform crock, rub, scuff, steel wool abrasion, scratch, mar,
scrape, gouge and other types of physical property testing.

Taber Abrasives
Taber abradants consist of the same high-quality abrasive media, found in Taber’s world-famous abrasive wheels, the Taber Wearaser®. Available in formulations that generate slight to extreme abrasion. Other standard abrasives such as crocking cloth, H1 felt, steel wool, Scotch-Brite™ and sandpaper are also available.
