IGT CG1-5 Printability Tester

For Conventional And UV Offset Inks And To Cover With Lacquer Or Varnish

The IGT CG1-5 is a dedicated tester, producing colour prints with conventional, or UV offset inks, plus it has the additional capability of lacquering an already printed strip with a lacquer of low viscosity. The lacquer is applied to an engraved printing form, via a doctoring system. The test strips can be used to:

• measure colour with colour measuring systems, spectrophotometers and simple visual appraisal
• measure density, establishing colour and density tolerances, determining coverage, wear resistance, scratch resistance, flexibility, adhesion and gloss, ink transfer (in g/m2), light fastness and resistance to chemicals
• testing printing quality, gloss, mottle and set-off.

Features
The IGT CG1-5 makes test prints 50 mm wide. The inking unit consists of two motorised aluminium drums and a rubber top roller. The distribution of the ink only takes approx. 30 seconds, due to the diameter ratio and the oscillation of the drum. Inking time of the printing disc is approximately 15 seconds. The printing form is automatically brought under pressure, printed and lifted.
